Laptop Loaning Programs

Overview

Semel IT provides a laptop loaning program where users may borrow a loaner laptop. All faculty, staff, contractors, and other associated personnel that fall within the Semel Institute department are eligible to participate in this laptop loaning program. Loaner laptops are Windows-based computers that come with the standard software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader, antivirus, and encryption.

The following criteria must be followed when borrowing:

  • Laptops can be borrowed only for UC business purposes.
  • Laptops are loaned for a minimum of one month. The monthly cost will not be pro-rated. There is no maximum limitations.
  • Laptops must be returned by the agreed upon due date so Semel IT may prepare them for other customers.
  • Customers are responsible for installing any non-standard software required.
  • Any accidental damages will result in charges for the original value of the laptop to the FAU initially provided.
